What’s Good Wednesday

This week we had the pleasure of talking with young fashion industry professional, Patrice Sosoo. We asked her to share her story on what’s good about successfully navigating a career in fashion as a millennial? Here’s what she had to say:

“The learning process. For example, I learned that it’s ok to sidetrack from my 3, 5 and 10 year plans sometimes. Some of my best opportunities came to me this way such as my current job. I never thought I would work in brand development but it’s been my favorite role thus far and it has allowed me to work with tons of small brands on the side to help them build and grow. The most important thing I’ve learned is how to speak up for myself. If I thought things were unfair in the workplace I wouldn’t say anything and suffer in silence. It’s taken a long time but now if I don’t like something, I say it. If I need something, I ask for it. If I think there’s a better way to do something, I offer my opinion. I am a strong advocate of that saying “a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.”
