What’s Good Wednesday

Summer is all about fun, so why not indulge in your guilty pleasures a little bit?! All the hard work to build up to your best summer body deserves a treat. Your me-time is essential for your sanity. Whether you choose to get a manicure, a sweet treat, or visiting our hair haven at GoodHair’s Mid-town pop-up salon ;-), your body and mind needs the occasional pick-me-up.  This week we sat down with one of the writers of Madame Noire after her visit to our salon to find out her top 5 NYC picks for her sweet-tooth indulgences. See her amazing list, below:

  1. Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar – Two of my favorites: chocolate and wine! This is a sweet happy hour place. In the summer, the outdoor seating paired with wine and a selection of chocolates, which range from $2 to $15, makes for a delectable evening.

  2. Cones Ice Cream Artisans – This is my favorite gelato place in NYC. Located on Bleecker Street, this locale has a healthy mix of traditional and one-of-a-kind flavors. My personal fave is white chocolate and there are white chocolate shavings in the gelato. My taste buds thank me every time.

  3. Doughnut Plant – Doughnut Plant is the adult version of your childhood favorite. The entire menu will have your mouth watering, but my top pick is the Tres Leches donuts. Sooo good!

  4. Baked by Melissa – These cupcakes are packed with flavor and won’t disrupt your diet. I believe they’re 40 calories per mini-cupcake and there are locations all over the city. I’m guilty of popping in randomly to try the Mini of the Month, or one of my favorites like Triple Chocolate Fudge, Red Velvet or Tie-Dye.

  5. A Corner Near You – Coquito helados. This is a quintessential NYC treat. I’m from the Bronx, so there’s no shortage of coquito vendors. They’re on every corner and thank God for that! I like cherry and rainbow, but many like coco (coconut).
